Food is more than fuel. It really is... humans as a whole, associate tastes and smells with feelings. Thus, when we eat, we are creating memories without realizing it. To be honest-I love food. I love creating something edible, its an art form, and for me its also relaxing to cook certain foods. Foods like Mac and cheese, are a staple of comfort foods, but I also created a rice recipe that fills me with the same feeling. Why, because its the act of cooking the meal that provides the comfort, along with the act of eating it. I used to cook the rice recipe late at night when no one else was around and I was feeling particularly lonely, husband traveling on the road working, child asleep, and I was all alone in the kitchen. While I cooked, it gave me time to think and reassess things. Everyone should have a food they can cook without constantly checking a written recipe to make it come out right.
In the next few posts, and from here on out, I'll post recipes that are good tasting, wholesome, and from ingredients NOT out of a box(well most of them). Read on, and cook.
